I have had spiny stick insects but have bought them live and trying eggs this time. Do some the eggs hatch just after being layed or do they have to wait a certain time before starting to hatch?

I've a baby one it's 5 months old. Do you know when it's legs will turn black. Ive been told mine is a girl as if it was a boy at 5 months it would have tiny boxing gloves on its pedipalps. I would love to know what sex it is. Boy or girl would be wonderful. She's only just got her gray body from brown. Her head is still brown so are her legs. She's wonderful. I love watching her eat aswell as she's so slow to eat

I know this is an older video, but it brought me to tears. You clearly love and respect your animals. That was a seriously beautiful tribute and I love the way you are putting him in a to be eaten by the isopods. That is so beautiful. I may have to use this idea when I lose another MM. It would be nice to plant a nice tropical plant that is native to the tarantula's homeland and the spider's carcass becomes fertilizer for the plant. In the past I have fed recently deceased spiders to my lizard. It is super healthy for the lizard and good for variety and a little enrichment and to me it is better than letting it go to waste when it can help another animal that I love to live on healthily.
